Souvongsavath highlights Simpson men's track and field in outdoor season opener

PELLA, Iowa - David Souvongsavath set two new top-ten records as Simpson competed in the first outdoor meet of the season at the Central Dutch Invitational.

MEET HIGHLIGHTS

  • David Souvongsavath wasted no time putting his name in the Storm record book in both the Discus and Shot Put. In the discus, Souvongsavath placed seventh in school history in discus and ninth in the shot put.
  • Collin Kessler placed fifth overall in the 1500m and also was the top finisher for the Storm in the 800m.
  • Ezra De Cleene in the 3000m took fifth overall, which tied with Kessler for the highest finish of any Storm on the day.
