Simpson wins 4000m DMR; Petersen named All-Conference at A-R-C Indoor Championships

DECORAH, Iowa - Highlighted by an A-R-C title in the 4000m DMR, and an All-Conference showing for Jeret Petersen in the Heptathlon, the Simpson men's track and field took sixth at the A-R-C Indoor Championships.

MEET HIGHLIGHTS

  • The meet began with Simpson earning a title in the 4000m DMR on Friday night, winning the event with the fourth fastest time in school history at 10:14.93 minutes.
  • Jeret Petersen claimed the highest finish of any Storm, taking second overall in the Heptathlon with a total score of 4763 points, the third most points in school history.
  • To wrap up the meet, the men's 4x800 relay team took third overall, earning All-Conference honors while posting a time of 7:55.91 minutes, the second best in school history.
  • Simpson set eight new top-ten marks in program history, with the highest coming from James Johnson in the 3000m where his time of 8:21.03 was second fastest ever in Storm history.
