Achebe makes history in 100m dash at Central Invitational
PELLA, Iowa - Records are meant to be broken, but the record Kendrick Achebe set on Friday in the 100m dash might stand for years to come. Achebe not only set the school record in the event, the fastest man in Storm' history set the fourth fastest time in NCAA Division-III history in the event with a time of 10.10 seconds.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS
- Achebe stole the show at the meet, shattering the school record in the 100m dash by 0.37 seconds. His 10.10 second time was the fourth fastest ever in D-III history in any weather condition, with only Sam Blaskowski of UW-La Crosse running faster times, which he did three times in 2024.
- In the 200m, Sams tied the school record with his time of 21.60 seconds.
- Pere added his name to the top-10 in school history in the 100m placing second all-time, while Sams moved up to third all-time.
- Pere also moved into second place all-time in program history in the 200m.
- Amina's performance in the high jump made him only the ninth jumper in program history to hit the 2.00m mark, placing him tied for eighth.
- White earned eighth all-time in discus with his mark of 42.80m.
