Achebe becomes school record holder in 60m at the NCAA Final Qualifier
WAVERLY, Iowa - Kendrick Achebe became the fastest Storm in school history, shattering the school record in the 60m dash with a time of 6.81 seconds at the NCAA Final Qualifier, hosted by Wartburg on Saturday.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS
- Kendrick Achebe broke the school record in the 60m with his time of 6.81 seconds. Achebe nearly broke the record in the prelims, finishing just 0.02 seconds off before shattering it in the finals, as well as winning the event.
- The 60m record was set by Corey Carrell and stood as the fastest time since 1995.
- Adonis McKenzie moved into ninth in school history in the 400m with his mark of 50.27 seconds.
- James Johnson moved up one spot to eighth in school history in the mile with a time of 4:19.92 minutes.
- The 4x400 relay improved upon their mark from last week and moved up to seventh in school history at 3:20.96 minutes.
