Schutjer named to honorable mention All-American team

INDIANOLA, Iowa - Simpson center Stacey Schutjer (Titonka, Iowa/Woden-Crystal Lake-Titonka) added an additional honor to her collection of postseason awards when she earned an honorable mention to the 2010 National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III State Farm Coaches' All-America Team, as announced by the Women's Basketball Coaches' Association (WBCA).

An all-region performer, Schutjer was chosen as one of 40 finalists to the make the All-America team and became one of 30 honorable metion selection. She was one of only four sophomores on the team and joined Buena Vista's Margo Muhlbauer as the only Iowa Conference representatives on the team.

In her first season as a starter, the 6-2 Woden-Crystal Lake-Titonka graduate led Simpson in scoring (15.0 ppg) and rebounding (6.3 rpg). She helped the Storm go 23-6, win the Iowa Conference regular season and tournament championships and advance to the second round of the NCAA Championship.

Schutjer ranked sixth in the Iowa Conference in both scoring and rebounding and led the league with 63 blocked shots.
