Five Storm named to CSC Academic All-District team

INDIANOLA, Iowa - After a historic season on the diamond, five members of the Simpson softball team were recognized for their achievements in the classroom, being named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team on Tuesday.

Katie Shaner, Alyssa Breckner, Kate Kriegel, Megan Heidelbauer, and Ashlyn Steen were named to the CSC Academic All-Region team. For Kriegel, Heidelbauer, and Steen, the award marks the second in their careers while being a first for both Shaner and Breckner.

Both Steen and Heidelbauer will advance to the CSC Academic All-American voting with award winners being announced June 17, 2025.
