Steen paces NCAA Division III in runs scored

INDIANOLA, Iowa - There was no stopping Ashlyn Steen once the junior outfielder reached base, scoring 65 times or 1.51 runs per game, which topped the NCAA leaderboards in 2025.

The two-time NCAA All-American paced all of NCAA Division III with her 1.51 runs per game, edging out second place finisher Candace Slaw of Chris Newport at 1.49 runs per game. Steen's mark was second best in the NCAA across all three divisions to only UT Tyler's JT Smith and her 1.60 runs per game.

Steen opened the year by scoring a run in each of the team's first five games, including a three spot in an 11-2 win over New Paltz on March 16. Her longest streak of games with at least one run scored topped out at 14, starting with four runs against Dubuque on March 26. The streak ran until April 22 at Luther, with Steen finishing with 31 runs over the span, including five games with three or more runs scored.

Her 65 total runs on the year also cemented herself atop the Storm record books, breaking the program record for most runs in a single season.
