Cooper and Merrill break school records to lead Simpson at Grinnell Invite
GRINNELL, Iowa - Olivia Merrill and Emma Cooper made Simpson history, setting school records in the shot put and 60m dash respectively at the Grinnell Invitational on Saturday.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS
- Merrill began the day by shattering the school record in the shot put, set in 2009 by Carissa Coopman, with her longest throw at 13.47m. Her mark was the 12th best in all of NCAA Division-III.
- Cooper took down her own school record in the 60m dash, a record she set earlier this season, finishing in 7.82 seconds.
- Cooper continued to break her own personal records, this time in the long jump, hitting 5.27m, marking her sixth best in program history.
