Kingrey's grand slam caps wild extra-inning victory

DUBUQUE, Iowa – Drew Carlson forced extras with a two-out double and the Simpson College baseball team ran away in the 10th inning, securing a 14-7 victory over Loras to start its weekend road trip.

Carlson tied the game in dramatic fashion in the top of the ninth, ripping a two-out, two-run double through the left side that knotted the score and forced extra innings. With new life in the 10th, Simpson's bats came alive. The Storm (10-14, 4-6 A-R-C) poured on nine runs on seven hits, capped by a grand slam off the bat of Trenten Kingrey, putting an exclamation point on a wild finish.

Dante Dolash earned the win in relief, striking out five and allowing just one hit in 2.1 innings of work.
