Storm stifled by No. 22 Coe in series finale

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Senior Eli Feekin surprassed 100 career strikeouts but the Simpson College baseball team was unable to generate offense in its series finale against No. 22 Coe, falling 5-0.

The Kohawks (18-5, 8-2 A-R-C) utilized a pair of singles in the third for a 1-0 lead and put the game away with a four-run fifth highlighted by a bases-clearing double from Ryan Thoreson.

The Storm (9-14, 3-6 A-R-C) struggled to find their rhythm at the plate, managing just three hits and stranding eight runners on base. On the mound, Simpson racked up 10 strikeouts, led by starter Feekin's five punchouts. With the performance, Feekin became the 26th Storm pitcher to surpass 100 career strikeouts.
