DECORAH, Iowa – Trey Castile threw his 300th career strikeout and the Simpson College baseball team split its first road American Rivers Conference contests of the season against Luther.
Castile became the first Simpson pitcher to reach 300 strikeouts with his fifth of the night, extending his lead as the program's all-time strikeout leader.
Offensively, Nate Cagley delivered in the clutch, driving in both runs in the game one victory, including the game-winner on a ninth-inning sacrifice fly. He kept the momentum going in game two, adding another RBI in the second inning.
