Bio

The 2016-17 season marks Megan Pilcher's fifth as an assistant athletic trainer at Simpson.

Pilcher serves as the primary athletic trainer for women's soccer and women's basketball and is also a faculty member in the Department of Sport Science and Health Education.

Prior to her arrival at Simpson, Pilcher spent three years as a full time athletic trainer at Fort Madison Community Hospital in Fort Madison, Iowa. There, she was assigned as the athletic trainer for Central Lee High School, overseeing all aspects of healthcare to student-athletes. During her time in Fort Madison she also served as an instructor at Southeastern Community College.

From 2007-09, Pilcher was an athletic trainer at Western Illinois University in Macomb, Ill. There, she covered sports club teams, including soccer, ultimate frisbee, rugby, volleyball and lacrosse. In addition to her athletic training duties, Pilcher served as a graduate teaching assistant, specifically as a clinical instructor.

Pilcher is originally from Clarence, Iowa. She received her bachelor’s degree from Loras College in 2007 before earning her master of science in Kinesiology from Western Illinois in 2011. Pilcher resides in Indianola, Iowa.
