Slorah wins heavyweight title at Last Chance Invite

PELLA, Iowa – The Simpson College men's wrestling team wrapped up its regular season Friday at Central's Last Chance Invitational, highlighted by a dominant performance from Carson Slorah at heavyweight.

Slorah captured the 285-pound title with a perfect 5-0 record, earning five falls on the day. He opened the bracket with a win over teammate Owen Willers before recording four more pins against opponents from Central, Graceland, and Iowa State Club to secure first place.

Davey Garcia placed third at 165 pounds. Garcia picked up a first-round fall over Nebraska Wesleyan's Diontrell Evans and later earned a medical forfeit victory to claim a spot on the podium.

Also at heavyweight, Willers finished fourth. After dropping his opening match, Willers rebounded with a 1-0 decision over Central's Ian Sharples and a 10-1 major decision against Graceland's Chase Snyder to close his tournament.
