Simpson drops dual opener to No. 4 Wartburg

INDIANOLA, Iowa – The Simpson College men's wrestling team faced a tough challenge against perennial power Wartburg on Wednesday night, falling 50-0 to the No. 4-ranked Knights in Hopper Gymnasium.

Wartburg (1-0, 1-0 A-R-C) recorded victories in all nine contested matches, including five by fall and two by technical fall. The Storm (0-1, 0-1 A-R-C) forfeited at 184 pounds, while the 141-pound bout went as a double forfeit.

Mazin Arafa and Noel Torres went the deepest into their matches, with Arafa falling 16-3 to No. 9 Carson Martinson and Torres falling by 17-2 technical fall to fourth-ranked Charlie Dojan. Trey Kellow (165) and Nicholas Silva (133) also extended their matches past the first period before falling by pin.
