Simpson rallies to top Illinois Wesleyan on the road
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Simpson College men's wrestling team rallied to secure a 35-16 win at Illinois Wesleyan on Friday night.
Simpson (5-6) scored seven straight wins to turn the dual around after the Titans (2-8) jumped out to a 16-0 lead. The rally began at 149 pounds with Easton Biladeau posting an 18-3 technical fall. Noel Torres followed with another technical fall, and Connor Jackson's pin at 165 knotted things up at 16-16 with four matches remaining.
The Storm pulled away in the upper weights, scoring 19 unanswered points. Trey Kellow posted an 11-2 major decision at 174, Mazin Arafa added an 8-1 decision at 184, and Troy Galloway sealed the dual with a fall at 197. Carson Slorah closed the night with a forfeit win at heavyweight.
UP NEXT
Simpson hosts back-to-back home duals against Buena Vista (Feb. 6) and No. 9 Central (Feb. 12). Both duals are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. inside Hopper Gymnasium.
