Simpson falls to No. 8 Central in home finale
INDIANOLA, Iowa – The Simpson College men's wrestling team closed out its home and dual slate Thursday night with a 46-0 loss to No. 8 Central.
Four Storm wrestlers went the distance in their matches. At 141 pounds, Zaydin Sanchez battled through a 17-6 major decision against Nicolas Trujillo. Mazin Arafa followed with a full seven-minute effort at 174, falling 14-3.
Conner Hangartner dropped an 8-2 decision to Cole Martin at 184 pounds and heavyweight Carson Slorah closed the dual with a tightly contested 4-1 decision.
Simpson recognized seniors Caden Elliott, Troy Galloway, Trey Kellow, Nicholas Silva, and Noel Torres prior to the match, as well as 2001 alum Nick Ackerman for his NCAA Silver Anniversary Award.
