LINCOLN, Neb. - A penalty kick goal right before halftime from Ronaldo Ordaz proved to be the difference maker in the Storm's 1-0 victory over Concordia-Moorhead on Saturday.
Playing at a neutral site in Lincoln, Nebraska, Simpson captured their second win of the season behind a stellar defense and offensive attack centered around Ordaz. Ordaz captured his second goal of the season, connecting on a penalty kick in the 43rd minute. The Storm defense remained stout, limiting Concordia-Moorhead to only eight shots, with keepers Mason Chaplin and Arya Nowroozi combining for three saves and a clean sheet.
GOAL SUMMARY
- After a failed clearance by Concordia-Moorhead, Tim Sedlock was fouled inside the box going for a ball in the corner. The Storm were awarded the penalty kick, and turned to Ordaz who faked the keeper left before striking to the bottom right corner to put Simpson on the board 1-0.
