Storm place 80 on A-R-C All-Academic Team
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Simpson College proudly announced that 80 student-athletes earned spots on the American Rivers Conference All-Academic Team, released Friday by the league office.
Simpson's 80 total selections tied for third among all A-R-C institutions.
Women's soccer paced Simpson's honorees with 20 selections, the highest mark in the conference for the sport. Football followed with 14 picks, and women's volleyball contributed another 12. Men's soccer added 10, while women's cross country (7) and men's cross country (11) combined for a strong presence. Women's golf (4) and women's tennis (2) completed the Storm's list of award winners.
To be eligible for A-R-C All-Academic Team honors, a student-athlete must be on the eligibility list for the sport of nomination, be at least a sophomore in academic standing with at least one year in residence and attain an accumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better (on a 4.0 scale)
