Simpson completes season sweep of Duhawks

DUBUQUE, Iowa – A double-double from Doryn Paup and 43 points between Maddax DeVault and Keira McCormick led the Simpson College women's basketball team to a 73-59 road victory over Loras.

Paup and McCormick combined for 13 of the Storm's 18 points in the first quarter, and DeVault knocked down four of her five 3-pointers in the second to aid Simpson (10-8, 6-3 A-R-C) to a 14-point advantage at the break, 41-27. The visitor's lead grew as high as 21 points in the third as the trio continued to dominate on both ends of the court.

Simpson outrebounded Loras (6-12, 2-7 A-R-C) 45-36 and shot 45.3 percent overall compared to 35.4 percent by the Duhawks.

  • Simpson has now won four in a row over Loras, improving to 53-35 all-time.
  • Doryn Paup registered her first collegiate double-double, while Keira McCormick had a break-through game with career-high points, rebounds, and steals.
