Simpson tests No. 16 Ohio Wesleyan in hard-fought loss

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Simpson College women's basketball team battled to the final minutes but came up short against No. 16/19 Ohio Wesleyan, falling to the nationally ranked Battling Bishops on Saturday night at the Music City Classic.

The Battling Bishops (8-1) built their advantage by outscoring the Storm (4-5) by slim margins in each of the first three quarters and carried momentum into the fourth, stretching the lead to as many as 15. Simpson showed resilience down the stretch, mounting a late rally that trimmed the deficit to four with 3:56 remaining. Back-to-back 3-pointers from Maddax DeVault and Taylor Hansen sparked the run, but Ohio Wesleyan answered with a timely triple to halt the comeback and seal the decision.
