Hansen drops career high, Storm fall in home opener

INDIANOLA, Iowa – Taylor Hansen scored a career-high 21 points, but the Simpson College women's basketball team fell 87-75 to Wis.-Eau Claire in its 2025 home opener.

The Blugolds (4-1) carried a six-point edge into halftime and broke the game open in the second half behind 65.6 percent shooting from the floor. They built their largest lead at 74-56 with 7:09 left before Simpson (2-1) mounted a late push, sparked by six points from Hansen and a layup by Lili Duckmann to trim the margin to 10. Wis.-Eau Claire held firm down the stretch to seal it.
