Simpson racks up new personal records at A-R-C Championships
DUBUQUE, Iowa - Setting a new personal record, and recording the fastest time any Storm in a 6K this season, Kalia Stover led the Storm at the A-R-C Championships on Saturday.
Stover clocked her best time of her young career, coming in at 23:48.1 minutes, placing her 41st overall, and 30th in scoring. Brylee Schechinger followed up closely behind Stover, just 18 seconds later for a second place team finish, and 49th overall.
Kate Huisinga and Ava French came in at third and fourth for the Storm while Emma Miller, Elie Tuhn and Araceli Tapetillo rounded out the top seven for Simpson. The A-R-C Championships marked the first time this season all seven of Simpson's top runners finished under the 25-minute mark.
Despite 13 Storm runners setting new personal records on the day, the Storm placed eighth overall in the competitive field. Wartburg took home the title, followed by Central and Loras tied for second with 73 points.
