Simpson falls to Cornell and Coe

INDIANOLA - A young Simpson women's tennis team faced two of the top teams in the league Saturday, falling to Cornell and Coe at Buxton Memorial Tennis Complex.

Cornell defeated Simpson 7-2, before the Storm fell to defending conference runner-up Coe, 9-0.

Against the Rams, Simpson picked up an impressive win at No. 1 doubles. The team of senior Jill Berner (Albia, Iowa) and sophomore Tiffany Bost (Spokane, Wash.) defeated the top duo from Cornell, 8-5. In singles action, sophomore Lindsay Nash (Keokuk, Iowa) earned a three-set win at No. 5 singles. She beat Devin Harmon, 6-4, 4-6, 10-5.

Simpson couldn't enter the win column against the Kohawks. Junior Allison Anderosn (Eldridge, Iowa) gave Simpson its best chance, losing to Sara Ohlman at the No. 4 spot, 7-6, 6-0.

The Storm take to the road for the first time Sept. 7 when they travel to Waverly to face Wartburg at 3:30 p.m.

Simpson athletes visit Lasik Iowa and Lasik Omaha doctors for annual checkups.
