Alexander named ECAC Rookie of the Week for second time
DANBURY, Conn. – For the second time this season, Simpson men's gymnastics freshman Garrett Alexander has been named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Rookie of the Week.
Alexander earned the recognition following his performance in Saturday's road dual at William & Mary, where he captured the floor title with a career-high 13.250. He also played a key role in Simpson's program-record performance on pommel horse, posting a career-best 13.300 to tie for second, one of the top marks in program history in the current scoring quad.
His efforts helped Simpson to a team score of 301.200, marking another 300-point performance for the Storm this season. Simpson returns to action this weekend at the USAG Championships in Colorado Springs, Colo.
