Jones, Rollison lead Storm in opening meet

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Braxton Jones and Brian Rollison highlighted the Simpson men's gymnastics season opener with podium finishes as the Storm opened the 2026 campaign at a tri-meet against Michigan and Greenville.

Jones earned third place on floor with a career-high score of 13.200 and narrowly missed a second top-three finish on vault, posting the fourth-highest score of the meet with a 13.900. Rollison also delivered a strong performance, placing third on rings with a score of 13.000.

Paul Tiedemann was just off the podium on parallel bars, finishing fourth with a score of 11.800. He also led the Storm on high bar with a 12.800, while freshman Garrett Alexander recorded Simpson's top score on pommel horse with a 12.050.

The Storm finished the meet with a final score of 292.500, improving upon last year's season-opening score by over five points. Simpson turned in solid team efforts on vault and high bar, finishing second on both events with scores of 53.800 and 47.700, respectively.
