Williams powers her way to A-R-C Offensive Player of the Week honors
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – After a dominant three-match stretch, outside hitter Emily Williams has been named the American Rivers Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
Williams led all A-R-C players with 4.1 kills per set last week, reaching double figures in each of Simpson's three matches. She opened the week with 10 kills on .421 hitting against Illinois College, followed with 14 kills versus nationally ranked Dubuque, and capped it off with a standout performance in the Storm's 3-1 Senior Day victory over Loras.
Against the Duhawks, Williams posted her first double-double of the season with 17 kills and 11 digs, while also setting new career highs in aces (4), solo blocks (3), and total points (24.0).
The honor marks Williams' first career A-R-C weekly award and the fifth by a Simpson player this fall, joining Morgan DenBeste, Peyton Mitchell, Jada Schmidt, and Hannah Jansen. Simpson's five weekly honors are the program's most in a single season since 2009, when the Storm earned a school-record seven.
