DenBeste, Schmidt lead Simpson to day one split at Falcon Invite

RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The Simpson women's volleyball team opened the Falcon Invitational by splitting two 3-1 matches on Friday, topping Carleton before falling to host UW–River Falls.

Simpson (4-1) used 16 aces along with double-digit kills from three players to topple the Knights (0-4) in the morning. The Storm took set one against the Falcons (1-3) but couldn't sustain the momentum despite a triple-double from Morgan DenBeste.

Jada Schmidt (22) and DenBeste (21) each surpassed 20 kills on the day, while Emily Williams chipped in 17 and Emmy Seiler added 13. Tommie Roberts (21) and Hannah Jansen (20) led the Storm backline.
