Storm move up to sixth in regional ranking; ties program record
NEW ORLEANS - For the fourth time in program history, the Simpson men's cross country team tied its highest regional ranking, reaching sixth in the fourth edition of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) regional rankings.
The last time Simpson reached the sixth spot was the 2023 preseason poll. The Storm were also ranked this high in the 2022 preseason poll, and twice in 2021. Simpson was one of five A-R-C schools featured in the polling, including top-ranked Wartburg, Loras, Central and Nebraska Wesleyan.
The Storm return to action next week, traveling to Peoria, Illinois for the Bradley Pink Classic on Friday, Oct. 17 for a noon race.
