Bucklin earns All-American honors for third time
GREENCASTLE, Ind. – Simpson senior Lauren Bucklin (Bondurant, Iowa/Bondurant-Farrar) earned All-American honors in the 55-meter hurdles for the third time in her career as Simpson finished competition at the 2010 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships at DePauw Indoor Tennis and Track Center.
After sneaking into the NCAA Championship field with the final qualifying time and turning in the sixth-best time of eight in the preliminaries, Bucklin put forth her best effort of the season Saturday.
She ran a season-best time of 8.20 to place fourth, her best showing in three trips to nationals. In 2008 she placed eighth and in 2009 she came in fifth.
After earning All-American honors with a third-place finish in the high jump Friday, Kinsey Bak (Hinton, Iowa/Hinton) came in 11th in the pentathlon Saturday. She accumulated 3,163 points.
