Simpson scores all-time high 190.625 at SEMO Quadrangular
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Evalyn Resnick shattered the bars record, the bars and floor lineups set new program bests, and the Simpson College women's gymnastics team scored an all-time high 190.625 Friday night at the SEMO Quadrangular.
Simpson's record-breaking score placed third behind Division I opponents Southeast Missouri State (194.850) and Bowling Green (192.950) but ahead of Division II foe Fisk (188.100).
The Storm broke their first record of the night with a 48.625 on floor. Kaelyn Tally and Brooklen Morgan led the way with matching 9.775s, while Annika Cole (9.725) and Bella Dix (9.700) added strong contributions.
In the final rotation, Alexa Denton first broke the program's individual bars record with a 9.775 from the three spot. Avril Crespin added a career-high 9.200 before Evalyn Resnick topped Denton with a 9.800 to cement Simpson's highest team score on the apparatus and tie for second place overall.
Tally added another medal for the Storm with a runner-up finish on vault, while Emma Charles led the Storm on beam with a 9.700.
