CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The Simpson College women's golf team recorded the sixth-best grade point average among all Division III schools during the 2021-22 academic year, as announced by the Women's Golf Coaches Association on Wednesday.
First-year head coach Jeremy Johnson's squad recorded a team GPA of 3.78 this year. Four members of the team, Taylor Elam, Hannah Mulligan, Averi Peck and Maddy Streicher, were named WGCA All-American Scholars earlier this month.
This is the second year in a row the Storm have finished in the top 25 for the WGCA All-Scholar Team GPA Award. Simpson ranked 16th in the nation after boasting a 3.695 GPA during the 2020-21 academic year.
The Storm will return to the course on Sept. 3 at the Luther Fall Invite in Dike, Iowa.
