Kaale leads Simpson to win over Macalester

STORM LAKE, Iowa – Rachel Kaale led a dominating effort as the Simpson women's basketball team beat Macalester 76-37 on Friday, the first day of the Buena Vista Classic.

Kaale scored a career-high 16 points on 7 of 8 shooting and Morgan Mauro had 11 off the bench as the Storm (5-1) rolled to their fourth-straight win.

Simpson led the whole way as 14 of 15 players who entered the game got on the board.

Park Masterson turned in a 10-point, 10-rebound double-double to lead the Scots (2-3).

MacKenzie Haupt hit a 3 to start the game, Kaale converted a 3-point play and Simpson never looked back, opening up a 15-5 lead in the game's first 9 minutes.

Up Next: Simpson closes play at the Buena Vista Classic on Saturday against Presentation at 1 p.m. Presentation beat Buena Vista 77-69 in Friday's first game.
