Women's basketball cruises past Presentation, wins fifth straight

STORM LAKE, Iowa - Rachel Kaale finished off a near perfect weekend from the field as the Simpson women's basketball team rolled to a 79-58 win over Presentation in its final game at the Buena Vista Classic on Saturday.

Kaale scored a game-high 14 points on 6 of 7 shooting as the Storm (6-1) finished the weekend undefeated and tallied their fifth win in a row. Kaale closed the weekend shooting 87 percent from the field after her 7-for-8 effort against Macalester on Friday.

Brittany Hedrick added 11 points and four assists, going a perfect 3-for-3 from downtown to join Kaale on the all-tournament team.

Simpson raced out to a 10-point lead to start the game and never led by less than eight after that. Kaale opened the game with a pair of layups before Hedrick and MacKenzie Haupt hit back-to-back 3s to make it 10-0. 

Britney Boland scored 10 points and Ashley Dalsing added 11 off the bench, hitting three 3-pointers.

Up Next: Simpson returns to non-conference action Wednesday, Dec. 3 when it makes the short trip to Des Moines to face Grand View. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
