Storm fall to Buena Vista, Grant Love with singles victory

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa – The Storm hosted the Beavers of Buena Vista on Tuesday for their first home conference match of the year. Throughout the competition, the Storm had many competitors that stood out in both singles and doubles competition. Many of the singles competitions of the day were pushed into extra points, and one of the doubles competitions was also pushed into extra points for a thrilling midweek show.

In singles competition, Grant Love took the only victory of the day for the Storm. His match went into extra points, finishing with a score of 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 10-4. Javier Robles Solis also played an extremely close match, eventually falling to his opponent 1-6, 7-6 (7-3), 11-9. Blane Wallace was the other member of the Storm to push to extra play with a final score of 3-6, 6-0, 13-11.

In doubles competition, Javier Robles Solis and Grant Love had a deafening win with a score of 6-1 against the Beavers. Drake Downard and Blane Wallace played in a hard-fought match but eventually lost in a nail-biting 7-5 defeat. Seth Orta and Darek Kayser also fought hard in their doubles match, falling 6-3 against their opponents.
