Men's Swimming led by trio of all-conference returners; pick fifth in preseason poll
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Led by a trio of all-conference returners, the Simpson men's swimming team was ranked fifth in the American Rivers Conference preseason coaches poll on Wednesday.
Senior Jared Oosterhuis, who was all-conference last season in the 200 freestyle relay, provides leadership for the Storm entering the 2025-26 season. Joining him are two all-conference sophomores in Tristan Blair and Carter Pichler. Blair was an all-conference performer in the 200 and 800 freestyle relay, while Pichler earned his all-conference honor in the 800 freestyle relay.
Luther claimed the top overall spot in the polling, leading the way with 15 points and three of the five first place votes. Nebraska Wesleyan followed suit at 14 points with two first place votes. Loras (nine points), Coe (eight points) and Simpson (four points) rounded out the poll.
The three-day American Rivers Conference championships will be held Feb. 19 - 21 in Decorah, Iowa.
