Storm come up short on Illinois trip
NORMAL, Ill. – The Storm men traveled to Illinois this weekend to compete in their largest event of the season so far. Competing against nearly 40 teams, Simpson finished in 35th place after round two, up one spot from round one.
On the weekend, the team shot a 631 (321, 310), defeating Concordia (Minn.), St. Francis (Ill.), and Edgewood. The Storm also came within 15 strokes of moving into the top-30 for the weekend.
The best individual performance of the weekend goes to Avin Legg's 152, which gave him a t-66 finish out of 228 golfers. His second round performance of a 73 was the best 18-hole round on the weekend for Simpson. Brad Kofoed, who golfed individually, had the second best round on the team with a 76 stroke performance on day one.
