Storm to begin Jones era on Nov. 9 in Dubuque
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Simpson College men's basketball team was selected eighth in the American Rivers Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, as announced on Tuesday.
The 2024-25 season will be a fresh start for the Storm, welcoming in first year head coach Kyle Jones. Jones joined Simpson after serving the last three seasons as the top assistant at University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, where the Titans went 57-26 with two trips to the NCAA DIII Championships, including a run to the Elite Eight in 2023.
Simpson begins the new season at the Loras Tip-Off Classic on Nov. 9-10.
LOOKING BACK AT LAST SEASON
- The Storm finished 9-16 overall with a 3-13 record in conference action, including wins over Luther, Wartburg, and Loras.
- Graduate Andrew Gibb was named to the A-R-C Second Team All-Conference squad, ranking fourth in the conference in scoring (18.6 ppg), fifth in field goal percentage (55.5%) and second in 3-point shooting (46.2%).
- The Storm's 78.1 points per game ranked fourth best in the conference.
- Caden Rehmeier's 5.0 rebounds per game finished tied for 18th, and his 15 blocks ranked 11th best in the conference.
