Simpson Women's Tennis victorious over Crown in spring opener
OWATONNA, Minn. - In the opening match of the spring season, a dramatic tiebreaker match win for Bella Sims clinched a 4-3 team victory for Simpson over Crown on Thursday.
Grace Peck and Coilee Hynek set the tone for the Storm picking up wins as the top two for Simpson. Peck won in convincing fashion, 7-5, 6-1 while Hynek battled back from a 4-6 result to win the match 6-0, 11-9.
Natalie Collins dominated her matchup as the four seed, winning 6-1, 6-4. Sims defeated Julia Lange of Crown 6-4 in the first game before going the distance in the second game, winning the set 7-6 in tiebreakers to clinch not only the match win individually but also for the team.
