Storm travel to Illinois to face St. Ambrose, Quincy

MOLINE, Ill. – Simpson traveled to both St. Ambrose and Quincy this weekend to take on the two schools in competition. The Storm began their weekend in Moline where they faced off against St. Ambrose on Friday before turning around and heading to Quincy to compete on Saturday. The Storm fell in both of their competition, finishing 6-1 against St. Ambrose and 7-0 against Quincy.

In their match against St. Ambrose, Grace Peck defeated her opponent in a close 6-3, 6-4 matchup. Gema Gonzalez forced her singles match to go into extra points with a score of 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-7), however she fell to her opponent in the hard-fought competition.

In doubles competition against St. Ambrose, all of the Simpson doubles competitors feel. Coilee Hynek and Gema Gonzalez lost 6-0 while Anna Schewe and Hannah Roth lost 6-1. The Storm were defeated by default in their third doubles competition.

Against Quincy, the Storm had multiple singles competitors that scored points in an effort to defeat their opponents. Grace Peck finished her match in a 6-4, 6-0 defeat. Both Coilee Hynek and Gema Gonzalez fell in their matches 6-1, 6-0.

In doubles competition, Coilee Hynek and Gema Gonzalez fell 6-0. Anna Schewe and Grace Peck were defeated by Quincy 6-0 as well.
