Weber paces Simpson at Wartburg

WAVERLY, Iowa – Junior Luke Weber led the Simpson men's cross country team to a ninth-place finish Saturday at the 11th Dan Huston Invitational hosted by Wartburg.

Weber was the top finisher for the Storm for the second week in a row, placing 28th of 206 after completing the 8 kilometer course in 26:53.

Sophomore Ryan Edwardson, the top finisher in Simpson's first two meets, placed 33rd (26:58). Senior Casey Dunning placed 57th (27:23), sophomore Matt Stone placed 99th (28:17) and freshman Mitchell Davis placed 105th (28:24), rounding out the top-five finishers for the Storm.

The Storm have one more meet to warm up for the Iowa Conference Championship, which will be held in Waverly on Oct. 31. Next week, the Storm travels to West Salem, Wis. for the UW-La Crosse Drews Invitational Oct. 17.
