Simpson men take fifth at Grinnell
GRINNELL - The Simpson men turned in two top finishes and placed fifth at Grinnell's Darren Young Classic on Saturday.
Ryan Edwardson won the 5,000-meter run and Josh Diehm won the high jump, leading the way for Simpson. Edwardson ran a 15:31.30 in the 5,000 and Diehm cleared 6-4 on the high jump.
Mitchell Davis came in second behind Edwardson in the 5,000 meters, running a 15:46.78.
Matt Stone put forth solid efforts in 800 meters and the mile, taking third in the 800 (1:59.07) and sixth in the mile (4:28.93).
Jarrod Schott finished fourth in the long jump (21-8 1/4), Brad Vogel fifth in the 55-meter dash (6.63) and Jake Sutton sixth in the 5,000 meters (16:21.84).
Simpson returns to action Friday when it travels to the UNI Dome Open in Cedar Falls.
