Amburgy, McKim earn All-Championship honors

ELSAH, Ill. – After helping the Simpson men's and women's swimming teams to a bevy of record-setting performances at the Liberal Arts Championships, Christina Amburgy and Kyle McKim have both earned a spot on the 2014 All-Liberal Arts Championship team.

To claim a spot on the team one must finish in the top four of an individual event and top two as a relay.

Amburgy did just that in placing third in the 200-yard freestyle in a school record time of 2:01.60. She claimed the honor despite racing in the event one time prior to the Championships (2:06.33). The freestyle specialist would go on to break two more school records in the 100 freestyle and the 400 freestyle relay.

McKim followed up with a fourth place finish and school record of his own in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:00.72. The sophomore had a field day, nabbing a total of five Simpson records that also included the 200 breaststroke, the 200 IM and the 200 and 400 medley relays.
