STORM LAKE, Iowa - The Simpson College men's soccer team used a pair of second-half goals to move past Buena Vista in a mid-week American Rivers Conference match.
Jordy Triana-Vasquez converted the game winner in the 38th minute with his ninth goal of the season. The speedy junior came out of nowhere to steal a pass from a Beaver defender and work his way around one more to score from 10-yards out.
Eight minutes later, Simpson (5-6-2, 3-2-1 A-R-C) gained some breathing room with a diving header from Enrique Idehen. Jack Lammers sent the ball in perfectly from the right side to aid in the score.
The Storm took a season-high 30 shots during the contest while holding the Beavers (2-10-2, 0-5-1 A-R-C) to five attempts.
