A 2009 graduate of Pleasantville High School … coaches were Brian Harkin and Tim Koerselman … qualified for the state meet in the 4x200m relay as a junior … also qualified for the state meet in the high jump, but due to a tiebreaker did not compete in the meet … placed third in the high jump at the district meet as a senior … a three-time academic all-conference selection … also lettered in softball, volleyball, basketball and cheerleading.

Born Aug. 11, 1991 … parents are Douglas and Janet Downing … has three sisters (Nicole Faust, Gloria and Megan) and one brother (Quentin) … majoring in economics with a specialization in finance … sisters Nicole ‘99 and Gloria ‘2000 graduated from Simpson, while Megan attended for two years before transferring … sister Megan was a member of the Simpson basketball team and father Douglas wrestled at Iowa Central.
