Dean O’Brien joined the Simpson football staff as the offensive line coach in June 2026.

O'Brien spent the 2025 season at Winona State University, coaching tight ends and fullbacks while serving as assistant film coordinator. Prior to Winona State, O’Brien worked at Saginaw Valley State University as assistant defensive line coach, equipment manager and film coordinator. He began his coaching career at Northwest Missouri State University, spending five seasons as a student assistant working with the offensive line and helping the Bearcats capture two conference championships.

O’Brien earned a bachelor’s degree in business management with a minor in sports management from Northwest Missouri State.
