Bio

A name familiar in the history of Simpson baseball, Joe Blake completed his 31st season as the Storm pitching coach in 2015. A graduate of Simpson, Blake was named IIAC Baseball MVP in 1971 and was twice named first team All-Conference. He later played baseball for the New York Yankees. All four of Blake's sons have gone on to play professional baseball - including Casey, who retired as a Los Angeles Dodger in 2011 after a career which spanned more than 10 years.

Blake passed away in a car accident in May 2015.
