The program's all-time strikeout leader, Trey Castile, joined the Simpson baseball staff as an assistant coach ahead of the 2026 season.

A four-time all-conference selection and five-time letterwinner, Castile earned ABCA All-Region 9 Third Team honors in 2024. He was a two-time A-R-C Pitcher of the Week, a D3baseball.com National Team of the Week honoree, and two-time team co-MVP. He finished his career with an 18-16 record and 4.11 ERA, throwing 352 strikeouts in 302.0 innings. 

Originally from Urbandale, Iowa, Castile graduated from Simpson with a degree in sports administration in May 2025.
