CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Simpson's Kayla Cary earned Iowa Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week honors for the period ending Sunday, Oct. 22, the league office announced earlier this week.
A senior from West Des Moines, Iowa, Cary won two individual events to lead the Storm to a season-opening 142-84 win at Nebraska Wesleyan on Saturday, Oct. 21.
An all-conference performer and school record holder in the 200 butterfly, Cary won both the 100 and 200 butterfly in the dual meet against the Prairie Wolves. She swam 1:06.04 in the 100 and 2:39.21 in the 200 as the Storm won seven events on the day.
