    Head Women's Golf Coach

Bio

Heather Sheffer became the head women's golf coach at Simpson on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013.

Sheffer took over for Noel Triebel, who resigned following the Fall 2012 season. Triebel served as co-head coach in 2011 and was in her first year as head coach in 2012.

“We are excited to announce Heather as our new women’s golf coach,” interim athletics director Brian Niemuth said. “She has great knowledge of the game and, because of her previous experience at Simpson, knows what we stand for and what we are trying to accomplish as a program.”

Sheffer served as an assistant under long-time head coach Bob Darrah in 2010 and was an all-conference golfer as a prep in Rosemount, Minn.

“I’m very grateful for this opportunity and am looking forward to the spring season,” Sheffer said. “I feel very fortunate to inherit a quality team and am excited about our potential for the future.”

Sheffer graduated from the University of Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies in 1996. She and her husband, J.R., reside in Indianola with their two children, David (14) and Abby (12).
