DES MOINES, Iowa -- In one of the country's most well-known track and field meets, the Simpson men's track and field team had three relays take part at the four-day competition.
The 4x200-meter relay had the Storm's best showing with a seventh-place nod, while a team from the University of Kentucky took first. The quartet of Craig Garrison, Travis Tupper, Troy Vittetoe and Kirk Wicks clocked an impressive 1:27.92.
Three of those four members competed in the 4x100-meter relay as well. Garrison, Tupper and Wicks were joined by Kellen Fitch to earn a time of 42.76 for 17th. That same trio ran in the 4x400-meter relay with Chase Wetterling starting out of the blocks to help the team run a time of 3:21.01 for 29th.
Simpson will travel to Dubuque on Friday for the Loras Twilight meet that begins at 3:30 p.m.
